Top Drawer to hold open house
Collins Pine Co. has joined
the California Climate Action
Registry, a group of organizations
voluntarily taking action on
climate change. Collins will work with
the registry to annually track, report and
certify the greenhouse gas emissions
(GHGs) from its operations.
Collins will also track and register
the GHGs sequestered through the
management of its 94,000 acres of
timberland in California’s Sierra Nevada

At its fifth annual open house, Top Drawer Components Inc., Apache Junction,
Ariz., will introduce its 100 percent UV coating technology and its use of real-time
manufacturing intelligence. The event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27.
Also included will be tours of the facility, which features lean production
management systems for TDC’s dovetail drawer production, as well as prize
giveaways, discounts and catered lunches.

Stiles introduces
new Solid Wood
Technologies division
Stiles Machinery Inc. has introduced a
new division focused on machinery for the
solid wood industry. The launch of Solid
Wood Technologies is a direct response
to customers who require machinery for
solid wood applications in addition to
panel processing. Products offered by the
new division were displayed at IWF. Solid
Wood Technologies is part of the Total
Production Solutions offered by Stiles.
Robert Slater has been named vice
president, Solid Wood Technologies
by Stiles. Speaking at an I WF press
conference, Slater said that moulders
would be offered by the new division
under the Kentwood name. Three
Kentwood moulders were on display at
I WF. More models were to be introduced.
Wadkin Visage profile grinders will also
be available from the new division. In
addition, the first training session for solid
wood equipment was scheduled to start in
early October.
Stiles also announced that it is
partnering with System TM of Denmark
for additional products for the new
division. Stiles will offer System TM
products such as optimizing equipment for
solid wood applications, material handling
devices, crosscut saws, automated
breakdown systems, stacking systems and
grading lines.
