Survey to
evaluate High
Point market
The High Point Market Authority
has chosen Exhibit Surveys Inc. to
conduct a research study to assess,
analyze and quantify the High
Point Furniture Market. The goal
is to identify factors to enhance
the value of attending the market
and define buyers’ habits, interests
and purchase plans.
“Our overall goal was to develop a research solution that will
provide feedback to assist in developing future plans and identify
changes the attendees/retailers
would like to see, from educational content to the products
exhibited to the market schedule,”
said Brian Casey, Market Authority president. “We look forward
to . . . receiving sound data to
enhance the attendee and retailer
experience so the market remains
a ‘must-attend’ marketplace well
into the future.”
CBR boosts millwork efficiency
20 percent with move
CBR Woodworking LLC has improved its
efficiency since its move to a new 35,000-
square-foot Hainesport, N.J., location.
CBR added an 8,000-square-foot finishing area, three new spray booths, an air
makeup system and a beam saw. In addition to the larger finish area, CBR is also
working with a local finishing company to
do additional finishing work.
Robert Schultz says the big advantage was being able to set up the floor
from scratch, which improved flow 20
percent. Schultz says the larger and
more efficient space is allowing the
company to consider manufacturing
some lower margin products that
it couldn’t compete on earlier.
Earlier, CBR was given six months
to leave its Riverside, N.J., building,
which was being torn down to build
condos. CBR’s 25 employees started
operations in its new location after
moving 14 tractor trailers of equipment materials, offices and finished
products. Schultz says that coordination of work in progress and lining up
riggers, electricians and other contractors were challenges during the move.
