Recovery for component makers discussed
More than 50 participants recently
attended the Remaining Competitive
in Hardwood Components Produc-
tion workshop at the Wood Education
and Resource Center in Princeton, W.V.
The event focused on the state
of the economy, how it affects the
industry, what other companies are
doing, what the future might hold
and potential opportunities. Several
speakers predicted a return to better
times in the foreseeable future with
long-term benefits, as weak industry
participants close shop, allowing for
a strong recovery for the remaining
players.
Weinig’s Mooresville, N.C., location hosted an invitational expo
for customers in the southeast
April 24-25 which drew a crowd of
33 attendees from 16 companies.
The event focused on demonstrations of three targeted
products: the EconoRip’s low-cost
ripping solution, the Unimat 800’s
heavy-duty moulder capacity and
the OptiCut S- 35 chop saw. Application engineers, service technicians and product specialists were
on hand to answer questions.
The Weinig agency for Ontario,
Canada, Taurus Craco, recently
welcomed customers to its facility
for the Euro Technology event,
