Sauder donates
furniture to flood
victims
S W Products Inc., a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Stylmark Inc., recently
acquired privately held Environments
Inc. Environments, a 40-year-old company, specializes in custom fixtures,
casework, furniture and millwork for
retail and business spaces.
“This acquisition enhances Stylmark’s strategy of expanding into
other retail markets, such as food
and hospitality, as well as commercial
and institutional interiors,” said SW
Products’ CEO Ken Ritterspach.
Environments will continue to
trade under the Environments brand
and maintain operations at its facility
in Minnetonka, Minn.
Sauder Woodworking is donating
furniture to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, residents recovering from the 2008 floods.
Working through the United Way of
Cedar Rapids, the company is giving
away 1,500 pieces of furniture.
“We have quietly assisted in furniture donations for many of the recent
natural disasters,” said Kevin Sauder,
president of the company. “People
can’t really use our donations until
after the homes have been restored
and rebuilt, but then they see the need
for furniture. We feel it’s important to
share with those in need.”

Nordson to conduct live
video product demos
Nordson Corp. recently announced it will conduct
live video demonstrations online for customers
interested in testing Nordson’s adhesive dispensing systems, eliminating the need to travel to one
of the company’s facilities.
The demos will be live and interactive featuring customer-specified products or samples.
The first live video demos were conducted at
Nordson’s application and technical support lab in
Duluth, Ga., in March 2009. Customers participated
in full-scale online testing, demonstration and evaluation of automated adhesive dispensing systems.
Customers were able to request and see different adhesive volumes, dispensing speeds and adhesive patterns in real time. Process variables and
adhesive system performance were monitored,
adjusted and documented during each step of the
testing process.
