Audrey Zink-Sharp has been
appointed as interim head of the
Department of Wood Science and
Forest Products in Virginia Tech’s
College of Natural Resources.
Zink-Sharp is filling in for
department head Paul Winistorfer,
who will succeed retiring Dean
Mike Kelly Aug. 1.
Zink-Sharp teaches undergraduate, graduate and continuing education classes in wood
anatomy, wood properties and
wood processing and serves
as director of the Sustainable
Engineered Materials Institute at
Virginia Tech.
Her primary research emphasis is wood cell wall architecture
and the development of improved
wood-based composites.
Custom cabinet manufacturer Pacific Crest Industries recently was
given an Association of Washington Businesses Community Service
Award. AWB’s annual community
service awards recognize member
companies for their contributions
and volunteerism that better communities. Pacific Crest adopted a
village called La Esperanza in El Salvador through Agros International,

Wings Youth Camp in Latvia, Vision House in Renton, Wash., Vine

Chain of Custody Certification.
